Ninja grew up playing video games with his brother. But it was when he discovered Earth Worm Jim when he was 12 that he got into multi-player games. He began competing in professional Halo tournaments when he was 16 years old and then began streaming Halo: Reach on Justin.tv during his second year of college. However, his channel grew so much that he decided to drop out of college to pursue a career in full-time streaming when he was 20 years old.
His big break came when Fortnite released in December 2017 when he began maining Fortnite on his channel. Since then, he has become one of the most famous streamers in the world, and for a few years was even the largest streamer. Ninja created a channel on Kick in June 2023, and hinted that he might be transitioning to Kick once his contract with Twitch expires, since he disagrees with Twitch’s decision to ban creators from multi-casting.
