How do Kick payments, subscriptions, and other remuneration work?

Kick’s beta started with a bang by obtaining over 200,000 users within its first 24 hours since launch on December 6, 2022, thanks largely to the promotional efforts of Tyler ‘Trainwreck’ Niknam who announced his decision to leave Twitch in favor of Kick a day before the platform went live. But two main factors have attracted new users: firstly, streamers whose content was banned from Twitch thanks to their new policies applied in October 2022 which included Gambling content featuring stake.com, roobet.com, duelbits.com, and rollbit.com, as well as Kick’s generous remuneration system. We will outline this system below.

How do Kick subscriptions work?

Kick subscriptions are available to content creators who have at least obtained Affiliate status. In order to become an Affiliate, you will need to obtain at least 75 followers and live stream for a total of five hours within the last 30 days. Once you have done so, you will be entitled to 95% of income from all subscriptions, meaning that you will receive about $4.55 USD per $5.00 subscription, while the remainder will go towards the platform.

Although there is not currently a Partner level, there will be at a later stage. Once the Affiliate achievement is fulfilled, the Partner goals will replace the Affiliate goals under the Creator Dashboard > ‘Achievement’ section. Once Partnered, streamers will receive a sliding hourly salary based on the number of viewers and subscribers that they have. The specific details of how this will work have not ye been revealed either.

How do you enable subscriptions on Kick.com?

After you create your Kick account, you will be able to track your progress by:

  • Once you have obtained Affiliate status, you can activate your channel subscriptions by completing the Affiliate objectives and then clicking the ‘Enable Subscriptions’ button which will appear as bright green instead of dull.

Other Kick.com revenue information

Another major benefit of live streaming on Kick is that streamers not only get to keep 100% of their tips, but they can even withdraw them on the same day. Additionally, although live streamers are permitted to multi-stream on various platforms, there will later be an option for content creators to apply for an exclusivity contract that will offer them additional financial benefits.
